Banking

Mrs C

When we set up our bank accounts, credit cards etc forty years ago, my husband was the main wage earner and it still seemed normal to many financial institutions in those days for him to be the main account holder and me secondary or additional one rather than joint.

Now he is disabled and retired and I am the person who deals with all our financial affairs as well as everything else. The institutions can’t change our accounts to reflect our changed circumstances. We’ve tried to make them to do it but without success.

This means I remain the secondary or additional card holder etc and I have to get my husband involved to ask permission to do things. It drives me nuts.
